Jewell johnson-lee
Board Chair
Jewell Lee brings more than 38 years of experience in procurement, fundraising, small business management, and executive leadership. After retiring from a distinguished federal government career in 2021, she has remained deeply committed to community service, youth athletics, and advocacy for individuals with disabilities and special needs. Through years of caregiving and involvement in programs supporting underserved families, Jewell brings compassion, leadership, and a strong passion for creating inclusive opportunities that positively impact youth and the community.
Michael Shaw
Board Chair
Michael Shaw is recognized as one of the Sacramento area’s premier basketball trainers, bringing more than 22 years of coaching experience across Pro-AM, AAU, NJB, and Varsity High School levels. His AAU teams qualified for national competition five consecutive years, and over 30 athletes he has trained or coached have gone on to play at colleges and universities across the United States. Coach Shaw is dedicated to helping athletes reach the next level through well-rounded skill development, mentorship, and competitive training.
Brandon Woodworth
Board Chair
With over 6 years of experience in sales and marketing, Brandon has helped support and grow several small startup businesses through strong relationship building, promotion, and customer engagement. In addition to a background in sports including football and basketball, Brandon also competed for multiple years as a sponsored disc golfer, bringing teamwork, leadership, and community involvement to every opportunity.

Coach Tre
Founder & CEO
With over 22 years of coaching experience, Coach Tre has made a lasting impact on the lives of more than 1,000 young athletes. Working with players ages 3–18, he has developed talent across a variety of settings, helping athletes grow both on and off the court. Coach Tre takes a personalized approach to development, understanding each athlete’s unique goals and creating a path to help them reach their full potential. His ability to combine structured training with a positive, engaging environment has helped instill confidence, discipline, and a genuine love for the game of basketball.
Coach Drew
Assistant Coach
My name is Coach Drew. I have a passion for coaching and player development which I have had the privilege to use working with Hoopers University! I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and moved to California to attend Sacramento State where I graduated in 2021. My interest in community building and being a mentor to the next generation led to me working at the YMCA where I am currently employed. I also have experience doing sports based therapy for kids with special needs in individual and group sessions.
